In the coming week we will be publishing our latest game title SickBrick which was developed by MisfitVillager and near the end of the development cycle Magrathean was brought in to do programming and support publishing tasks and help give the game the final polish.

SickBrick is an action-oriented Sci-Fi FPS with modern graphics and oldschool gameplay set in (and outside of) a testing facility in an unknown desert. You are thrown into a strange world without any recollection of your past and forced to fight hostile robots with only one goal, and that is to destroy you. The game contains the following:

*. 15 maps with a mix of outdoor and indoor locations on a strange alien world.
*. 5 unique and devastating weapons. Chainsaw, Shotgun, Lightning Gun, Grenade Launcher, and the Shock Rifle
*. 10 deadly robotic enemies each with custom animations and sounds.
*. Use of high definition (HD) graphics and sound effects.
*. Includes MapEditor and ResourceEditor for creating custom maps and mods.

There is also a demo that lets you play 4 maps from the full game and try out 2 of the weapons. It will take about a week for all of the download portals that we sell the game on to go live with the downloads so please be patient until it is available from your store of choice.

We would like to officially announce a new game called SickBrick.

It is an action-oriented Sci-Fi FPS with modern graphics and oldschool gameplay. There are 15 maps and 5 unique weapons. The story revolves around the mystery of why you are in the world of SickBrick, how you got there, and more importantly, what is going to happen to you.

SickBrick was created by Mladen “SickBrick” Bosnjak from Croatia, and Magrathean Technologies is helping him push his game to the finish line with voice acting, music and all major programming. This is the first Magrathean project to be done in full collaboration with outside producers. Mladen contacted us near the end of the development cycle to give SickBrick the polish that gamers have come to expect.

The demo is out now, giving a sample of what will come in the next few weeks. It contains four maps from the full version of the game, three indoor maps, one outdoor map, and a couple of weapons. The demo’s maps are taken from various points throughout the chronology of the game, to give the player a taste of the different gameplay elements without spoiling the story.

There are plans to release it on all the distribution portals that we currently sell our existing product line Incognito Episodes on the list includes: BeamDog, Desura, GamersGate, IndieDB, Impulse and finally we will submit the title to Steam and see how that goes.

The latest versions of the game have now been approved by Apple and we have released them out onto the store. As of this writing should be available to you via the AppStore, so for all you OSX Lion users enjoy!

We have updated the game on BeamDog and Desura. Our binaries are currently ‘in review’ at Apple for the AppStore and will release as soon as they are approved. Still pending are contacts at GamersGate and Impulse, we will make a final post once all download portals have been updated.

- Bug fix: Game would not start on OSX Lion (10.7) but worked on all 10.5+

- Bug fix: Resource and Map Editors crashes if installed only .NET 4.0 Client Profile (no installed .NET 4.0 Extended).

Time keeps on ticking ticking, into the future..

It has been more than a month since we have said anything after getting cracked by SKIDROW and RELOADED. We watched the downloads of the torrent here and things have finally died down and returned to normal.

While all that was going on we updated our code base to NeoAxis 1.0 that has finally come out after working with it since 2007 and version 0.5x it has been lots of fun getting to 1.0. Much congrats to all the other developers in the NA community here is a personal shout out for you. See you when 2.0 arrives

Getting cracked and put on the scene did two things for us a company and Incognito as an indie game. It gave us tons of exposure and hits to our site and videos that we would have really never been able to achieve without being listed by such “high profile” groups.

The only thing we did not like was the potential for lost sales. The crackers basically give you another file that you can put into the games directory that overwrites our own. After this you can enter a specific number and it will always activate. To be honest it was well done and we applaud the crackers for their skill.

All things considered this is normally a privilege reserved for AAA titles and games much bigger than us. We still believe that all they wanted to do was offer a better product and one without a serial number tied to it. How can we fix this without getting locked into some perpetual cycle of trying to outsmart others?

Well some changes have to be made obviously. If the game is so popular that it needs to be cracked we will make it more available to the gaming masses. Removing the DRM system that we built back in 2008 felt really good after it was done. The next thing we did was decide to lower the price and try to capture some of the market that decided to play it for free. Maybe $9.99 USD (before tax) is asking to much. Each episode of Incognito will now only be $4.99 USD.

So now instead of all 3 episodes costing you a total of $29.97 USD it will now only cost $14.97.

What else have we been up to you ask? What else could you have possibly done in the last month other than this? After we did all that other awesome stuff we wanted to do something even more awesome so we decided to finally create a official Linux port for all 3 episodes of Incognito.

In the next few weeks all the download portals we work with (GamersGate, Desura, BeamDog, Impulse, Apple AppStore) will be receiving this new version with DRM removed and we will look into possible ways to distribute for Linux so we don’t overwhelm the server here.

It appears we have attracted the attention of SKIDROW and RELOADED cracking groups. In light of the game being hacked and now available for download we here ponder what we should do next in response.

Our firm belief is that hackers seek to only offer a better product (one that does not have DRM) such as our serial number system which registers the game for each episode that you the customer buy from us.

So what is a small Canadian indie dev. team to do? We think we have a few options:

Solution 1: Try to fight something a small company like ours has absolutely no chance at doing, probably going insane in the process.

Solution 2: Remove all forms of DRM from the game in attempt to stay on par with hackers and offer a better product for your money. After all, when we update the game their cracks will fail until they fix them again.

Solution 3: Do absolutely nothing at all.

We will come up with a decision in the coming week or so about what to do.
